  • White bits

So today I didn't do as much as I planned. Spoke to mother on the phone, ran eldest to summer school, did some shopping with youngest in tow and finished reading my book which was one of these you just wanted to know what happened next. It was historical fiction as it was set in King John's time, full of intrigue, love and the usual politics of that time.

Then came the phone call. One of DH's acquaintances parent has died, so another funeral to attend and we had to break the news to BIL who has taken it quite badly but said he will attend which has surprised us a bit as we thought he would have wanted to avoid this one, but then again maybe he just wants to put some demons to rest at long last.

I am surprised at my tan this year. Very little time spent outside yet I am turning a lovely brown colour on my arms and neck. Hubby keeps commenting on the white bits but they will have to remain white, the neighbours might complain if I walk around with no clothes on!

And on that note I had better get the washing in and show it what an iron looks like. It is a bit cooler here now, though still hot and the forecast is for it to be even hotter tomorrow so I don't intend to do too much!

    ocean? I
    tried
for a while; I can't see any stupid ocean!

So here is the illusion that I will share with you all!

  • Its a wonderful life!

Start of summer holidays. Only have to run one child around as he starts summer school today - studying Archaeology for two weeks. Other child is dying to get out and play with his friends - the poor things aren't out of bed yet and he has been up since 6!

Sun is shining and I have housework and washing to do - can't do too much as leg is still playing up but am getting there bit by bit. Doctor pleased with the progress I am making but I am really getting down about the amount I still cannot do. Getting up and downstairs is a pain and takes too long and the aching is driving me scatty. I know it is going to take a while but I hate not being able to do things that I take for granted everyday and I am not very patient when I am ill.:##

Yesterday we had a lovely day. Went to see Pirates of the Caribbean - Dead Man's chest with hubby and the kids. We all enjoyed it. Was a bit apprehensive as a friend of mine said how disappointed she was by the ending but I feel it set itself up for number 3 perfectly. Came home and watched the first POTC because there wasn't much on telly and I just cannot get bored with the film like I do with others, it always cheers me up when I am feeling low.:D

Eldest son had a good day as well as we brought him two pair of jeans, a pair of combats and a tshirt for £18 in Primark. Problem with him is he is 5 ft 9, size 31 inside leg with a 26inch waist. Finding trousers/jeans to fit is a total nightmare, most kids ones don't come anywhere near him or if they do they are too short in the let or too big on the waist. Managed to get size 28inch waist for him and he has to wear a belt with them. I found a skirt for me which as normal is too big on the waist but fits the hips. If I had got one to fit me in the waist then it would have been too tight on the hips I really cannot win! I am so out of proportion!:|

Oh well enough of rambling, better get myself geared up for the day ahead and do something a little more constructive!

    Have a good day Blogland!:D
