Spread your wings and fly away

It has been a funny day. I have spent most of it :
feeling sorry for myself
then I had a contact lens check up and today one of the contact lenses was hurting (bad batch apparently),
sat here waiting for eldest to ring to let me know when to pick him up,
Listened to hubby moan about the of a plumber he had to work with, the of a floor layer, the of the site builders - like I was interested!
Spoke to a friend, worried about another, then waited for potatoes to cook which took forever!

in between laughed at posts, cried at others and commiserated.

Thanks for keeping me sane today I needed it!

.....for 8 medium sized jacket potatoes to cook in the oven?

They have been in for 21/2 hours on 220c and they are still not cooked! for a relatively new oven it certainly knows how to annoy me!

Though the weather is not helping my mood much! It is very windy here and very cool, to the point where I have had to find a jumper to put on as sitting here gave me the chills.

Finally got off to sleep last night then woke up with cramp in the leg with the torn muscle. Stretching it was agony and it took a while before it wore off. Eventually got off to sleep to be woken by hubby getting ready to go to work, so as I still have to take eldest to summer school dragged myself out of bed to have my cuppa.

That is when eldest told me he had to be at summer school at 8.30 instead of 9.30 as they were going on a trip to a real live 'dig'! Couldn't have told me this yesterday, that would be expecting too much! So mad dash round trying to get ready so I could take him. Part of me was, I admit, tempted to tell him to find his own way there, afterall he is 14, but then I thought I will only spend the day worrying so decided best course of action was to drop him off myself. No idea when he will get back but he told me he will phone when he needs picking up - mum's taxi service!!

Got my contact lens check today. Hopefully it will be alright for me to have them pemanently and so they can start ordering them. wore them for 9 hours yesterday with no problems at all - a lot better than the old type I had.

Oh well better do some housework, well at least wash up the breakfast dishes and get into town. See you later folks!
