Does anyone else find it difficult to rinse plates, cups, glasses etc before putting them away in a dishwasher?
Does anyone else find it impossible to follow instructions?
Does anyone out there ever wonder why you talk to people, or ask them to do something when it would be a lot quicker to have done it yourself in the first place?
Let me explain.
Dishwasher as you know blew up this morning. Ask eldest child to wash up items in it by hand for me.
Cooked dinner this evening. Wash up, decide to make sure inside dishwasher is clean ready to be dumped at the tidy tip to find it is still full up with the things I specificaly asked to be washed up.
So I have just spent the past hour doing the washing up that was in the dishwasher. It shouldn't have taken this long, but unfortunately for some unknown reason, the dishes were put into the dishwasher without being rinsed - we had macaroni cheese yesterday which has gone very hard so the plates ended up being soaked. I must admit I am a bit fussy about these things and there is a certain order to how I wash up as well, and insist upon everything being rinsed etc etc, so it took a long time, not impressed and not happy that I ended up doing it as well.
Oh and the other thing, son gets washing in but doesn't fold it up just leaves it on the chair screwed up! Guess who will be ironing all his own clothes from now on and he has the audacity to complain about me being in a bad mood - I haven't even begun yet!!!

And the day got worse
@ 08/08/06 – 19:04:17
As I thought it would!
Went round to see a friend. Sat in her garden the pair of us sewing on our individual projects and putting the world to rights over several cups of tea. In comes her husband from work holding my wing mirror from the car!
Some bastard got so close they took it clean off!
I was parked half on the pavement as the road they live on is very busy and people have a tendency to park either side - however you can still get two cars down the road passing each other without too many problems.
So I am now a mirror short on the drivers side which is a bugger as I rely on my mirrors due to the fact that when I have back problems i cannot turn round in my seat.
Then got home to find that I no longer have a cd rewriter on my computer as today it decided that it was going to break down all the inside of it burnt out!
They say it comes in threes hope that is it!!

Letter home from a farm kid

Got this as an email, it is very funny!
Letter home from a Farm Kid
(NOW AT San Diego MARINE CORPS RECRUIT TRAINING.)
Dear Ma and Pa,
I am well. Hope you are. Tell Brother Walt and Brother Elmer the Marine Corps beats working for old man Minch by a mile. Tell them to join up quick before all of the places are filled. I was restless at first because you got to stay in bed till nearly 6 A.M. but I am getting so I like to sleep late. Tell Walt and Elmer all you do before breakfast is smooth your cot, and shine some things. No hogs to slop, feed to pitch, mash to mix, wood to split, fire to lay. Practically nothing. Men got to shave but it is not so bad, there's warm water. Breakfast is strong on trimmings like fruit juice, cereal, eggs, bacon, etc., but kind of weak on chops, potatoes, ham, steak, fried eggplant, pie and other regular food, but tell Walt and Elmer you can always sit by the two city boys that live on coffee. Their food plus yours holds you till noon when you get fed again.!It's no wonder these city boys can't walk much. We go on "route marches," which the platoon sergeant says are long walks to harden us. If he thinks so, it's not my place to tell him different. A "route march" is about as far as to our mailbox at home. Then the city guys get sore feet and we all ride back in trucks. The country is nice but awful flat. The sergeant is like a school teacher. He nags a lot. The Captain is like the school board. Majors and colonels just ride around and frown. They don't bother you none.
This next will kill Walt and Elmer with laughing. I keep getting medals for shooting. I don't know why. The bulls-eye is near as big as a chipmunk head and don't move, and it ain't shooting at you like the Higgett boys at home. All you got to do is lie there all comfortable and hit it. You don't even load your own cartridges. They come in boxes.
Then we have what they call hand-to-hand combat training. You get to wrestle with them city boys. I have to be real careful though, they break real easy. It ain't like fighting with that ole bull at home. I'm about the best they got in this except for that Tug Jordan from over in Silver Lake. I only beat him once. He joined up the same time as me, but I'm only 5'6" and 130 pounds and he's 6'8" and near 300 pounds dry.
Be sure to tell Walt and Elmer to hurry and join before other fellers get onto this setup and come stampeding in.Your loving daughter, Carol

Town, thoughts and other ramblings
@ 08/08/06 – 12:45:48
Went to Town today. eldest needed some school trousers, I needed to find out how much money I don't have and drop eldest off to get his hair cut. So far so good.
Actually it wasn't that bad in town for a change, well a lot easier to get round than it was at Asda yesterday anyway. Manged to bump into two collegues from work and one ex collegue so it took just a long to get round in the end. Managed to find a pair of trouser to fit son, nearly 15 with a 26inch waist and 32in inside leg - it is so difficult getting trousers to fit him! Got the trousers in BHS in the end, only just fit in the leg, hope he doesn't grow much more as for some reason they seem to think if you need a 28inch waist trouser then the long length in the leg only needs to be 30in!!
Mum phoned while I was out. We still cannot believe we have lost another member of the family, but the coroner has now done his bit and released the body so funeral can go ahead next Wednesday. Stil can't believe he has gone and I admit it hasn't hit me yet, he was just the life and soul of the party.
He part owned a pub in Germany and they have announced his death on the front page of their website which is nice, done a copy of it for mum for her memory box, I know she will appreciate that. Couple of nice things said about him on the guest book as well.
Feel a little lost this week I have to admit.

Today has started off well

Couldn't have gone better really - dishwasher has just blown up!! Now have the decision to make, do I get a new one to replace it OR do I buy another cupboard to go in that space. Decisions, decisions.
One part of me is saying get rid of it altogether and put a cupboard there. Save water, do your bit for the environment. Downside to that is I will end up washing up on top of everything else I have to do. Of course it is supposed to be one of eldest Chores but as most of it goes in the dishwasher there is very little for him to do thus he gets lazy. One of the reasons we got the dishwasher in the first place was because I was tired of getting dirty plates where he had supposedly washed up - it is one of my biggest bug bears. So stress levels, angry moments, do it yourself or save all this and get a dishwasher.
Oh decisions decisions!!
Mind you It couldn't have happened at a worst time. MIL dishwasher gave up last week so we ended
up with a huge amount of dishwashing tablets, salt and rinse aid in the cupboard. Also the fact we have no spare money at the moment to replace the machine either. Then there is the problem of if I can get a cupboard that will match the rest of the kitchen to go in the gap that will be left by the dishwasher!Decisions, Decisions!!!!
