  • Oldie but goodie

Four brothers left home for college, and they became
successful doctors and lawyers and prospered.

Some years later, they chatted after having dinner together.

They discussed the gifts they were able to
give their elderly mother who lived far away in another city.

The first said, "I had a big house built for Mama."

The second said, "I had a hundred thousand dollar theatre built in the house."

The third said, "I had my Mercedes dealer deliver an SL600 to her."

The fourth said, "You know how Mamma loved reading the Bible and you know she can't read
anymore because she can't see very well. I met this preacher who told me about a parrot that can recite
the entire bible. It took twenty preachers 12 years to teach him. I had to pledge to contribute $100,000
a year for twenty years to the church, but it was worth it.
Mamma just has to name the chapter and verse and the parrot will recite it."

    The other brothers were impressed.

After the holidays Mom sent out her Thank You notes.

    She wrote:

"Milton, the house you built is so huge. I live in only one room, but I have to clean the whole
    house. Thanks anyway."

"Marvin, I am too old to travel. I stay home,I have my groceries delivered, so I never use the
    Mercedes.The thought was good.Thanks"

"Michael, you gave me an expensive theatre with Dolby sound, it could hold 50 people, but all
of my friends are dead, I've lost my hearing and I'm nearly blind.
I'll never use it. Thank you for the gesture just the same."

"Dearest Melvin, you were the only son to have the good sense to give a little thought to your
gift. The chicken was delicious. Thank you."

  • Weather

Just looked up the forecast for the coming week and it isn't looking good.

    Oh dear

*looks worriedly at pile of washing that needs to be done for the holiday*

  • Trip to the supermarket

So there we are heading towards Sainsburys (nearest one to us couldn't be bothered with Asda) when I see long line of traffic up ahead.

Groan, give it a break it's Sunday, I mutter under breath.

The Petrol station at Sainsbury has reduced price of petrol to 95.9 per litre, hence the traffic, all queuing to get their petrol.

So now dilemma. Do I sit patiently in queue and get petrol which I will need at some point this week or do I continue on and park car.

Opted for the latter, hubby with me and yes may be only today at this oh so special price (it was 99.9 last week) but I hate shopping on Sundays and really needed some milk, bread and something for tea tonight!

So we walk round, discuss what to have for tea, hubby decided on burgers, not what I wanted but then again it is quick and easy (worry about diet tomorrow). Fill basket get to checkout.

"fancy some bacon with them burgers" says he.

So I trundle of like the dutiful wife I am and get some bacon.

"Bloke over there has some strawberries they are half price" says he.

"shall I get some?" I ask

    "yes and cream"

So yet again trundle off, buy two punnets of strawberries (well I love them) and some extra thick cream (really will worry about diet tomorrow).

On way back look down wine aisle, not much there on special offer so pat on back as I resist temptation to buy some wine as well.

Back at checkout hubby having conversation with checkout girl about crisps and dogs (don't ask) and when I return she then starts to give me her life story - great!|-|

Eventually get home. One thing I hate about shopping ------ Unpacking!

Sitting here in calm having a nice cup of tea now made by his lordship - ah bliss!:D

  • Is it any wonder......

    ........I get confused!

Earlier I confused my Greenday with Coldplay! Both were being played loudly upstairs on separate stereos upstairs in different rooms whereas downstairs I was playing Bon Jovi 'Sippery when wet' album and singing loudly.

Then heard hubby shouting a couple of times (obviously we were disturbing him playing with his toy playstation game)

    Ignored it.

Shouting again, decided to do the washing up.

Changed album, now playing Maroon 5 for a change, eldest comes downstairs moaning about everything so in time honoured management skills delegated the reminder of washing up to him. Picked up mp3 player and started listening to Del Amitri (yes my stereo is still going) and went upstairs for my shower.

Youngest child is now playin Cheeky Girls (will kill the person who brought him this), eldest has Red Hot Chilli peppers blaring in his room despite the fact he is now downstairs, Hubby has Blondie playing on the stereo in our room and is playing Abba on his walkman (we haven't quite reached 21st century here yet) attached to some speakers in the bathroom while he is in the bath - as he said you can't beat them so join them!

As my mother would say (god forbid me) "turn that noise down!"

  • Singing in ones sleep

Well it is absolutely chucking it down outside and if very very windy indeed! Hubby says I was singing in my sleep and not making a lot of sense, he is now sleeping of the effects of not having a lot of sleep !! Well makes a change from me having panic attacks lol:)

Playing my mp3 player and singing along badly and jumping around room - receiving strange looks from the kids, but then again they know their mother is mad so what is new there!

Breakfast needs to be cooked. Dead or Alive is now on its fifth play of the morning, love the music to this, and the guitar playing *plays air guitar badly*.

Oh well better get a move on before I have a riot on my hands, no rest for the wicked lol!!
