  • One set of instructions, two meanings!

    1. Remove ball from plastic packaging. (It is normal for balls to have slight creases or fold marks when first infalted) This caused a smirk and snort from hubby when I read this out, I knew from here on in it was going to be difficult to maintain order.

    2. Allow ball to reach room temperature prior to inflation. This Yes he says, that is always a good idea or it goes into hiding if cold. (by this time eldest child is beginning to smirk)

    3. Remove pump from plastic wrap. No really? Says hubby, But I always thought you should use protection (by this time both children have started giggling)

    4. Attach the grey end of the pump hose to the blue nozzle at the base of the pump. At the oppostie end of the hose, attach the smaller of the two white adapters to the end of the hose - your foot pump is now ready for use. Ah he says, very kinky.

    5. Insert the adapter into the hole and hold firmly with one hand. I do all the time, he says, by now eldest child is rolling on floor in laughter. Inflate ball until it is 80% of its maximum size

is that when I have to stop pumping? he says. It lasts longer then.

    6. Let ball sit for one hour. After waiting the recommended time follow the instructions above to inflate ball to optimum size. Reinsert plug when complete and wrap measuring tape round balls circumference until the ends meet. Oh look it gets quite big, must try that one!

By this itme we are all in fits of laughter and rolling on floor and yes we are trying to inflate the fit ball that came with my core secrets kit. He then spent a happy half hour watching the video and trying to help me balance on it. then I go and make things worse by saying the following "it makes a difference having a bigger ball, the other one was far too small, I can feel it work now!"

Much hilarity in this house tonight!

  • Monday morning alarm bells

So today started at 4am. Not that I got up at that time it was just that I was wide awake and no matter how much I plumped up the pillows, rearranged the duvet, tried in vain to find that cold piece of sheet to rest my legs on I couln't get back to sleep. So I laid there listening to the sounds of the house, you know the ones where you can hear the odd floor creak, the dogs move around trying to decide if it was worth waking us up to feed them yet or who's bed to lie on.

When the alarm went off, hour and half later, I was dozing, so being woken up by two men discussing money did not go down all that well. Nigel got up and headed for the bathroom, he needed to start early today and I laid there deciding if I should get up and do some exercise or lay in bed for another hour - getting up won.

Cup of tea and did my Pilates when postman knocked on the door, waking the kids up, to deliver my Core workout - brilliant! All I have to do is set it up and then I can do some tonight perhaps - though I really should do the ironing!

Peace broken by kids bickering, then once they were off to school I am able to relax for a while, have some breakfast, decide what to have for lunch and do some housework - well at least wipe the dust where it has settled. Should stick some washing on as well, though I may not get that far.

Working 11 till 2.30 today not that I am looking forward to it, but these things have to be done.

Mood wise, not feeling any better really, weather looks quite dismal and I am sure that affects how I feel:)

Anyway better get something done hadn't I
