The last few days have been a turmoil of emotions. I have felt restless, I have been having bad dreams, or I sleep well and wake up exhausted. This combined with a headache that has made me feel sick and an upset stomach if I take anything for the headache hasn't made me the most pleasentess of people to be around.

Hence very little in the way of posting.

I now know why I was like this and female hormones have a lot to answer for. On top of it all I have lost a repeat prescription to get some more tablets to help me through this, though I think I may have enough tablets to see me through, not that they are helping much at all

Still I will bravely soilder on and try to get back to my usual self as soon as possible

Today town was packed. The kids came with us and went their own separate way to get cards for tomorrow. Nigel and I did the usual transferring of funds etc and deposited a cheque into the savings account - we now have enough money to pay for our holiday to Florida next year which I am getting excited about now So I am waiting for the 10% that will be on the Virgin website over the next few weeks and I will book up. However we are in the process of negotiating when to go. I was thinking about going mid August so that Simon will be back in time to get his GCSE results but he wants to go end of August like we did last time so we don't have much queueing to do as the American kids will be back at school. Apparently he isn't too bothered about going with his friends to collect his results and would much rather they delivered them so that they were here when we get back. I would prefer to go at Easter, but Simon will be studying his GCSE then and due to work commitments it wouldn't be that easy to go then. So I shall price up and see what happens.

As I said earlier Town was packed due to it being St Patrick's day. There were stalls everywhere about town, banners up, pubs advertising entertainment for tonight, a big parade going throughout town, displays etc etc. We needed to get in and out quickly really, hubby was getting a little tetchy and if one more person had said "Happy St Patricks day" to him I think he would have been just on the nasty side with his reply.

Don't get me wrong celebrate by all means, it is great the Irish do. But every year our local council make a big issue out of it, put on all these displays and everything. Every year there is a big celebration of Asian dance and music as well. They make a big deal out of Diwali as well.

But what do they do for ST. George's day?

Nothing
Zilch

And that really pisses hubby off big time.

And yet neither of us mind the Irish celebrating St Patricks day, they should, just as the Welsh should celebrate St David's day, the Scottish should celebrate St. Andrews day, just as the English should be celebrating St George's day. The fact that St. Patricks day is made a big deal here in our town yet St George's day isn't is the problem here, and each year we see more and more England flags go up in our area as more and more people take a stand.

One day perhaps it will change, but for now, town will be avoided, for today at least
