Will this rain ever end!

It is almost torrential outside and the wind is howling. It has been like this all day and quite frankly it is getting on my nerves now.

Hubby has made a reappearance downstairs and is watching Survivor on the telly, so I had better go and pretend to be sociable even if I just sit and sew for an hour or so.

My sewing has been neglected of late, so really ought to get going on it again

It has been a fun day really, for the most part I have been on here blogging or looking up information about the situation we face at school. If anything it has kept me away from the fridge so feeling good about that lol!

Right I am going off now to snuggle up to hubby.

I was listening to a conversation yesterday, between two women, on the subject of blogging while eating my breakfast in Debenhams.

A: People must be so sad to blog, honestly cannot see the point in it. You think people would have better things to do.

I can tell you I very nearly choked on my breakfast!

I am not sad (well perhaps I am). I do have a life. I blog because it is a way of expressing feelings and it is a fun way of learning about what goes on in other peoples lifes, you realise that no matter how bad your problem is, there is always someone else that has gone through it that you learn from.

And I enjoy it.

But I also go out regularly, have a lot of 'real' friends as well as blog friends.

It is funny what people think about blogging when they don't do it themselves.

In the beginning God covered the earth with broccoli, cauliflower and
spinach, with green, yellow and red vegetables of all kinds so Man and
Woman would live long and healthy lives.

Then using God's bountiful gifts, Satan created Dairy Ice Cream and
Magnums. And Satan said "You want hot fudge with that? and Man said
"Yes!" And Woman said "I'll have one too with chocolate chips". And lo
they gained 10 pounds.

And God created the healthy yoghurt that woman might keep the figure
that man found so fair.

And Satan brought forth white flour from the wheat and sugar from the
cane and combined them. And Woman went from size 12 to size 14.

So God said "Try my fresh green salad". And Satan presented Blue Cheese
dressing and garlic croutons on the side. And Man and Woman unfastened
their belts following the repast.

God then said "I have sent you healthy vegetables and olive oil in which to cook them".
And Satan brought forth deep fried coconut king prawns, butter-dipped
lobster chunks and chicken fried steak, so big it needed its own
platter, and Man's cholesterol went through the roof.

Then God brought forth the potato, naturally low in fat and brimming
with potassium and good nutrition.

Then Satan peeled off the healthy skin and sliced the starchy centre
into chips and deep fried them in animal fats adding copious quantities
of salt. And Man put on more pounds. God then brought forth running shoes
so that his Children might lose those extra pounds.

And Satan came forth with a cable TV with remote control so Man would
not have to toil changing the channels. And Man and Woman laughed and
cried before the flickering light and started wearing stretch jogging
suits.

Then God gave lean beef so that Man might consume fewer calories and
still satisfy his appetite.

And Satan created McDonalds and the 99p double cheeseburger. Then
Satan said "You want fries with that?" and Man replied "Yes, And super
size 'em". And Satan said "It is good." And Man and Woman went into
cardiac arrest.

God sighed ......... and created quadruple by-pass surgery.
And then ............ Satan chuckled and created the National Health Service.

THE FINAL WORD ON NUTRITION

After an exhaustive review of the research literature, here's the final
word on nutrition and health.:

1. Japanese eat very little fat and suffer fewer heart attacks than us.
2. Mexicans eat a lot of fat and suffer fewer heart attacks than us.
3. Chinese drink very little red wine and suffer fewer heart attacks than us.
4. Italians drink excessive amounts of red wine and suffer fewer heart attacks than us.
5. Germans drink beer and eat lots of sausages and fats and suffer fewer heart attacks than us.

CONCLUSION: Eat and drink what you like. Speaking English is apparently what kills you.

Couldn't get on the computer yesterday, had a few problems here with one child and another one that needed the computer to do some research for some coursework. He has a computer in his room but because I like to monitor what sites they are on his computer isn't internet accessible. I keep saying I will network the computers up, but after the problems I have had trying to network the laptop to the computer and it still not working properly I have decided against it.

Of course there is always wireless networking as an option, but due to the problems my mum and sister have had with that since they have had it installed, I think I will avoid that route as well for now

So logged on this morning and it has taken half an hour to go trough 102 emails! I was only away from the computer for one day! I have tried to reply to as many people that answered my previous posts, forgive me if I missed anyone out, it wasn't intentional, I just got lost Will try and catch up with friends posts if I get time later.

Oh and a huge thanks to those of you that replied to my first post on my other blog, it was very sweet of you to take the time to do so, it wasn't expected, I just need a kick up the bum to get my act together.

Right plans for today, get washed and dressed and decide whether to go out or not, though as it is raining I feel the Not idea the better choice.

I long for warm sunny days
