Hand of friendship

by faffajane @ 03/07/07 - 20:14:55

Did Anyone Ever Tell You,
Just How Special You Are
The Light that You Emit
Might even Light a Star

Did Anyone Ever Tell You
How Important You Make Others Feel
Somebody out here is Smiling
About Love that is so Real

Did Anyone Ever Tell You that
Many Times When They were Sad
Your E-mail made Them Smile a bit
In Fact It made Them Glad

For the Time You Spend Sending Things
And Sharing whatever You Find
There are No Words to Thank You
But Somebody, Thinks You're Fine

Did Anyone Ever Tell You
Just How Much They Like You
Well, My Dearest Friend
Today I am Telling You

I HOPE I GET THIS BACK
I believe that without a
friend you are missing out on a lot!!!

Don't be confused by friends and
acquaintances, there is a difference!
BUT, you have to send it right now!!
But don't just send it back, send it on to everyone..

Have a nice day, and I'm glad we are friends!!!

Rules for eating chocolate

by faffajane @ 03/07/07 - 19:00:18

If you've got melted chocolate all over your hands, you're eating it too slowly.

Chocolate covered raisins, cherries, orange slices & strawberries all count as fruit, so eat as many as you want.

The problem: How to get 2 pounds of chocolate home from the store in a hot car.
The solution: Eat it in the parking lot.

Diet tip: Eat a chocolate bar before each meal. It'll take the edge off your appetite and you'll eat less.

If calories are an issue, store your chocolate on top of the fridge.
Calories are afraid of heights, and they will jump out of the chocolate to protect themselves.

If you eat equal amounts of dark chocolate and white chocolate they actually counteract each other!

Money talks. Chocolate sings.

Chocolate has many preservatives. Preservatives make you look younger.

Put "eat chocolate" at the top of your list of things to do today. That way, at least you'll get one thing done.

A nice box of chocolates can provide your total daily intake of calories in one place. Isn't that handy?

If you can't eat all your chocolate, it will keep in the freezer. But if you can't eat all your chocolate, what's wrong with you

Blood and other things

by faffajane @ 03/07/07 - 12:58:57

Th vampire nurse attacked my arm with military precisions leaving me with a tasty bruise. The results should be in later next week.

It left me feeling a little faint but I managed to get through it and am now comfort eating a sainsburys millionaire's shortcke dessert - absolutely disgusting and wouldn't recommend it at all!

Spoke to mum on the phone earlier who is sounding a little depressed. Latest suggestion is to put a chair in for nan that will lift her up and down - which will mean mum will have to get rid of a sofa to fit it in. Sounds ok but she is feeling like she is being taken over, as they also want to put a portable toilet in as well. There is only the living room, kitchen and small bathroom downstairs and because there is nans bed in the living room there isn't much room to sit in so mum spends most of her time in a small kitchen trying to keep on top of the washing looking after an elderly parent causes - and trust me it is a lot.

Think it is time for them to think about putting nan in a home but I know that mum doesn't want to make that decision, it is like she feels that she is letting nan down somehow, but at the moment she is going to go insane if she has much more of all this and she gets very little help other than a carer coming in to change nan.

It is a worry I have to admit, but there isn't a lot I can do from here.

Sun has made an appearance at last though it goes away again and the rain appears instead. oh joy, another wet week looms by the look of it lol:)

In case you haven't seen this...............

Can I just ask for your support for this wonderful person who is trying to raise money so that research can continue into a disease that is affecting this little girl and children like her.

Good Tuesday Morning

by faffajane @ 03/07/07 - 07:18:17

Oh look it is raining for a change, my word where did I put my boat?

Yes that is how I felt this morning as I woke up to the sound of pitter patter of rain drops on my window this morning. We have had so much, though we remain unaffected by it, unlike some parts of the country, but it is July and to see some sun for a change would be really nice.

Our broadband connection went down yesterday. We had some problems with the cable going to our telly so called Virgin Media out to sort it. Very nice man who came and fiddled with it, then started pulling at a cable and asked if the telly had been moved somewhere else in the room.

"Yes," says I, "I have a move around now and again so the people who installed it gave me a nice long cable so that I could move the telly and be able to still use cable"

He just smiled at this. It didn't occur to me that the cable he was pulling up actually was the one that was connected to the broadband box in the dining room, so there I am swearing at the computer as I was unable to log onto the internet, when Nig comes to the rescue, pulls out the telly and examines the cables and realises the bloke has gone of with the split connector (whatever that is) therefore we can't access the internet.

So after a lot of >:XX>:XX and about 2 hours of fiddling and phonecalls, hubby got it working again, whereupon I breath sighs of relief.

I am not going in today, have to have a few blood tests and need to sort out a few things so as I am owed quite a few hours I have booked the day of work. As we are off timetable this week I am sure they can manage without me, anyway there is a lot of hassle at work and i just want to stay away.

Have a good day

Hugs xx
