Happy new year to you all. 2008 is now 15hours and 44 minutes old and I have just had my breakfast. yes you read right, it was a very late breakfast. yesterday evening was fun, the company was good, the wine flowed freely. We played games, we sat and chatted and laughed at Take That - honestly did you see that moving platform they were walking on? We were taking bets as to who would fall off it first!! Home in the early hours of this morning, bed and sleep overtaking us. Woke up leisurely, hubby brought me up a cup of tea in bed and we lay there reading our respective books while our phones went of with varous text messages. Hubby managed to finally drag himself out of bed when there was a knock at the door. Not wanting to move from my comfortable spot in the bed I ignored it, but whoever it was wasn't going to go away, then youngest shouts out "Its Uncle P!" Mutters under breath, shout at hubby "your brother is here" While I rummage around room trying to find something half decent to put on. Weary eyed eldest son emereges from his room. "Wot's up" he mutters. "Your uncle is here" Grunts emanate from him as he descends into the deepest, darkest depths of his room to find something to wear. Descending the stairs, hubby is making another tea and they are engrossed in talk about work, football and PS or Xbox games. I sit on the sofa, half asleep, trying to think of something to say, then decide it isn't worth it, no one will listen anyway. Eldest son and myself occasionally make a funny remark to each other and moan about them rattling on. Eventually he leaves, off to visit his mother. Sighs of relief all round. Pack hubby off to the local shop with son in search of some bread and sausages, while I go and stand under a hot running shower in the attempt to clear my head. So late breakfast of sausages, bacon, eggs, mushrooms and beans with toast was the order of today, hopefully that will see them through and they don't try and talk me into cooking them dinner as well. Even better I may, just may, curl up on the sofa with a glass of wine later and watch a DVD or two in the hope they leave me alone - though the chances of that happening is virtually non existent as the dogs are looking at me in the hope of me taking them for a walk! Have a good day everyone and may your year be full of fun, laughter and happiness. Hugs xxx
