How Embarrassing

by faffajane @ 02/01/08 - 18:05:25
LISBON (Reuters) - The head of the Portuguese agency responsible for enforcing a new ban on smoking in public was seen lighting up at a New Year party, breaking the law on the first day it came into effect.

Antonio Nunes, president of Portugal's food standards agency, was photographed by the daily Diario de Noticias smoking a cigar at a casino on the outskirts of Lisbon.

Nunes told the daily he was not aware the anti-smoking law, which applies to cafes, restaurants and bars, also included casinos. But a spokesman for the Ministry of Health said it did.

"We will have to look into what is in the law," Nunes said.

Illness

by faffajane @ 02/01/08 - 18:00:08

I planned on making a roast dinner so I cooked a roast Chicken.

Hubby came home from sorting out someones wires for them and had another beechams.

Decided he would much rather have a tin of chicken soup instead.

I don't feel like eating.

children have got roast chicken, mashed potatoes, sprouts, cauliflower and carrots for tea.

No doubt we will have the remainder for dinner tomorrow.

Ho hum!

Hubby just taken himself off to bed - well he will play on the ps2 for a little while, because his back and head hurts!

Bless him he rarely is ill, but when he is you certainly know about it!

Flaming hospital

It will be a shame if we were to lose this valuable facility.

The flesh was willing but the soul was weak

I had good intentions of:

getting up early
doing some exercise
going for a walk
doing some housework
cooking dinner
chilling out

I had a rough night. When I went to bed at the respectable hour of 11 O'clock intending to sleep, I found that I could not. I lay there next to hubby who was throwing the covers on and off himself, one minute very hot the next cold to the touch. I couldn't get comfortable and it was obvious that he was in for a rough night as his cold has returned with a vengence. Laying there planning out my meals for today my ankles started to itch like mad again and so I gave up, came downstairs, made some hot milk with a splash of rum in it and creamed my legs with antiseptic cream, where the itchy lumps are.

Eventually made it back to bed again where I spent the night in and out of sleep until the alarm went off which is when I managed to feel tired and wanting to fall asleep.

Hubby got up, made a cup of tea, made himself a hot beechams and brought it all back upstairs. He didn't look good at all but he was worried if he didn't get his timesheet in, he will not get paid so off to work he went. I lay there listening to the radio, decided I will get up at 8 and drifted back of to sleep.

Suddenly the bed moves, I wake with a start, but it was only hubby who had come back after handing his sheets in and finding there was very little work to do, so he came back home, crawled into bed and fell asleep.

So 10 O'clock arrives his mobile starts ringing, he decides he feels a little better and we both manage to make it down the stairs.

However he has managed to go off to do a private job and the only thing I have managed to do is get showered, dressed and to pick up a few necessities at the supermarket!

My good intentions for today have disappeared.

Tomorrow is back at work, stupid day to start back if you ask me, but it has to be done!

Hope you are all having a good day xx
