Buggerations

by faffajane @ 16/05/08 - 20:12:22

Fantastic end to the week.

Barclaycard wrote to tell us of unusual activity on our card - yes it would be unusual as we don't use it!

Anyhow, some lowest form of humanity has cloned our rarely used card and has been on a spending spree in France and Spain, totalling over £1000 in the last three days!!

Hubby phoned Barclaycard and ended up in an argument with the operator as it is mainly me that uses the card he had to ask me the question the barclaycard people asked him, therefore she refused to speak to him. Mad dash to nearest barclays branch, with passport and driving licence to prove who he was, they had just closed, but after hubby swore and kicked at the door several times in anger persuaded them to open up and explained what had happened, they kindly phoned the fraud office, confirming who he was and let him speak to them complete with all details.

End result is we have to fill out numerous forms when they arrive in the post, cut up our cards and be issued with new accounts.

Not happy bunny and hope the bastards who did this have a very, very miserable life, are finally caught and buggered in prison and eventually rot in >:XX hell.

Course that will never happen but I can wish can't I?

Sorry to read about this, I'd have been shocked....it's amazing how they can clone them these days. Even with the supposed security :( I hope you get everything sorted etc.

xx

Thanks, I hope so as well:)

It is a scary world out there:)

Oh, what a bloody awful shock...I'd have hit the ceiling too...and then panicked...our Bank phoned Ray one day to tell him that his card had been amongst those hacked and to destroy it and they'd send him a new one...I nearly put the phone down on the guy at first thinking he was trying to sell us something, but he did turn out to be genuine...it alarmed me how many questions he was asking about Ray's card but all was fine in the end...glad you got it sorted...great big hugs...and try and have a relaxed weekend...XXX

Ain't it crap when you get that call from the bank or credit card company!!! I have had a bank card and a credit card used recently. One in America and the other in Canada and were both used via internet sites.

May their testicles fester and drop off!

I know someone who had that happen to them last year. It was a real pain in the backside!

Yes, it's a pain in the arse, but in the end the banks usually pay you back as it wasn't your fault.

Did you know that on PUBLIC (!) hacker websites, they actually TRADE account information? They trade hacked Ebay accounts, hacked credit card details, hacked bank account details, Amazon - and pretty much all other big online stores!

The latest scam I saw on TV is that they hack into your router (!!!!), and when you click on the bank in your Favourites, you're being rerouted to a website that looks genuine but has been prepared by the hackers. You put in all your details as usual - and they have all the information they need for a transfer. And there is no way a customer can tell, nor can any firewall or anti-virus program detect this. Great, huh?

All I can say to that is Bastards!!

Hugs xxx

Bloody hell. That's awful. Hope it gets sorted soon.

This happened to me once with my switch card. Also happened with my eBay account. It isn't a nice experience, and I also hope they get buggered in prison. I am sure it will all get sorted out - mine did with hardly any hassle at all - I just had to sign some forms saying I didn't buy the stuff they listed. However, that doesn't take away the horrible feeling of someone stealing part of your life. I have found myself vaguely paranoid about my accounts and cards and I hate the feeling. No advice for you, I'm afraid, as I still feel like that. (((Faffa)))

Well so far I have received a form from them so that they will allow me to speak to them, but nothing about the money!

Bloody red tape.

I just got sent form to sign saying that it wasnt me that had the money, and that was that.

I am not happy about it all I can tell you:)
