Our rescue pigeon Nig found in the road and couldn't leave. He is only young and hasn't got all his flight feathers yet. Hubby this week has been letting him lose to try and get him to practice flying, he is doing well:)

  • How to exercise your dog without taking him out

Throw an empty plastic bottle on the floor andsit back as he:

    Attacks it:

Chases it round the room growling at it:

Feeling sorry for your other dog who is feeling left out, you rescue the bottle and give it to him:

Who pushes it a little, gives it a little squeeze

And then collapses in a heap from exhaustion

Well it had been a very busy two minutes for him and it had been at least that long since his last sleep lol:)

  • What do you do all day?

What Do You Do All Day?

A man came home from work and found his three children outside, still in their pyjamas, playing in the mud, with empty food boxes and wrappers strewn all around the front yard.

The door of his wife's car was open, as was the front door to the house and there was no sign of the dog. Proceeding into the entry, he found an even bigger mess. A lamp had been knocked over, and the throw rug was wadded against one wall. In the front room the TV was loudly blaring a cartoon channel, and the family room was strewn with toys and various items of clothing.

In the kitchen, dishes filled the sink, breakfast food was spilled on the counter, the fridge door was open wide, dog food was spilled on the floor, a broken glass lay under the table, and a small pile of sand was spread by
    the back door.

He quickly headed up the stairs, stepping over toys and more piles of clothes, looking for his wife. He was worried she might be ill, or that something serious had happened.

He was met with a small trickle of water as it made its way out the bathroom door. As he peered inside he found wet towels, scummy soap and more toys strewn over the floor. Miles of toilet paper lay in a heap and toothpaste had been smeared over the mirror and walls.

As he rushed to the bedroom, he found his wife still curled up in the bed in her pyjamas, reading a novel. She looked up at him, smiled, and asked how his day went.

He looked at her bewildered and asked, 'What happened here today?'

She again smiled and answered, 'You know every day when you come home from work and you ask me what in the world I do all day?'

    'Yes,' was his incredulous reply.

She answered, 'Well, today I didn't do it.'

    Priceless.

  • Not such a happy Wednesday

I woke up yesterday morning with a slighly itchy eye, and it felt like it had something in it. Deciding that I must have a tiny speck of mascara in it from the night before, when I took my make up off, I hunted for the optrex and swirled it round my eye in the hope it would cleanse it.

By the time I got to work though, there wasn't one person who hadn't asked if I had seen my eye - well I didn't need to look in a mirror to see what it looked like I could feel it - itchy, sticky, swollen, and very very sore.

I managed to see the doctor (amazingly they actually had an appointment free) and he has diagnosed conjunctivitis. Great.

So I came home clutching my medication, phoned work to tell them I wouldn't be back in and lay on the sofa feeling sorry for myself.

This morning I woke to find I couldn't open one eye without bathing it first. All the area surrounding the eye is very swollen, I have a bag under it that you could fit a book in (ok slight exaggeration but work with me here) that makes my face look lopsided. the eye is still very red, the eye lid is puffy and swollen and angled in such a way that makes it look as though I am permanently winking! Not a pretty sight at all.

Said to hubby about it and then burst into tears. I admit I was completely irrational in that I decided I would probably look like this for life - hideous! Needless to say I have decided that I really am not up to working, think I would just burst into tears.

On antoher note, my day off has been made easier in that when I volunteered to do the school run as my friend (who usually does it as I am working) has her youngest child off with chickenpox. So I load up the car ( no one was going to see the state I am in) and head them off to school to find it has been closed due to a burst watermain. This is handy it means I don't have to pick them up from school later, Simon has finished his exams so he isn't at school anymore so the three of us can spend some time together. I may, just may, make them play a game or two with me:)

    Have a good day
    Hugs xxx
