This morning my body aches.
There isn't a muscle that doesn't hurt, my back is killing me, in fact I have resorted to taking tablets for it, and I am feeling sick (but that may be because I am hungry!)
So what have I been doing?
Eldest son decided that he looked like a 7 stone weakling. He is far from it though, skinny yes, but is a very strong boy. The swimming has helped to get that lovely streamlined body that swimmers have, but he has decided he needs a bit of muscle to go with it. So hubby decided that as he himself needs to trim up then off we will go to join a gym.
I look at all the equipment we have here and wonder why we need to go to the gym but he says it will motivate us. Not sure how yet because if it is anything like yesterday then I am sure it will not motivate me!
Anyhow off we went for our induction. Why am I going? Well if hubby can't go with son then muggins here will have to go because it isn't at our local leisure centre, you know the one round the corner, five minutes walk away? Oh no, eldest decided he didn't want to go there, the one next to his secondary school, the one which has been refurbished and has new equipment, no that would be too easy. No the one they chose is a car journey away, at a leisure centre where youngest swims on a Saturday.
"While he is swimming we can be training" says hubby, yeah right.
So the induction. Young girl shows us all the machines of torture, what to do with them, how they will help. Takes a full medical history, devises us a plan and apparently we are now fully fledged members of one of the tiniest gyms in history. I kid you not it is tiny - turn round and you can touch the person exercising next to you!
Having been a member of a gym before, in fact several, and getting bored of doing the same old thing and not getting any help with moving on, I have to say I can't help but feel that the same will happen here. However when I told young girl of this she assures me she will be keeping an eye on things and will motivate me further. When we fill our sheet in after each session, we also have to write what other activities we have done during the day that will help us tone up!
Yeah right, like I need more torture!
