I always look forward to this time of year, where you find out which blog you get to write about as your secret Santa.

This year I was just as excited when lyndlj's message popped into my inbox, telling me who I had got.

I have to admit, I haven't come across this blogger before, but I did notice a couple of people on my friend's list are also on the friends list of this blogger, so I settled down and spent a happy hour or two browsing through this blogger's blog, which was re-started in August 2012 because this blogger signed out of his old one and couldn't sign back in.

His blog is informative. It has a wonderful history of the Maori, an interesting article about Jelly fish, and lots of news stories where he will share his opinion, without causing any offence. It was a fascinating read and many a time I found I was nodding my head in agreement with what I was reading.

Following a link on his page, took me to another blog of his where you get an insight into his family life, and a gorgeous picture of his new grandchild, which now takes the total of grandchildren to 13!

I love blogging because you get to read about people's lives from around the world. It opens your eyes to what is happening beyond our own garden fence, and within my secret santa's blog you will find just that. This blogger is a New Zealander, with an interest in the internet, blogging, writing and New Zealand politics, and someone that I hope to get to know better as I will definitely take time to read more of his blog.

So Ladies and Gentlemen, without further ado, I give you Mr. Peter Petterson, from Wellington, New Zealand, and his blog http://www.blog.co.uk/user/huttriverofnz/.
